Which legal process allows one party to collect money from another party after a money judgment has been entered?

Subpoena

Writ of Garnishment

After a money judgment is entered, the way to collect funds is through garnishment. A writ of garnishment is issued by the court and directed to a third party who holds the debtor’s assets—typically the debtor’s employer for wages or a bank for funds. The writ requires that a portion of wages or money on deposit be turned over to the judgment creditor until the amount of the judgment is satisfied, subject to any legal exemptions and limits.

Subpoenas are for compelling testimony or the production of documents, not for collecting money after a judgment. Nail and Mail is a service method used to obtain service when standard methods fail, and it does not itself collect the judgment. A Notice of Appearance is simply a party’s filing indicating they will participate in the case, not a mechanism for collecting funds.
